Owen Timlin has joined Mack as New Business Development Manager. Bringing over a decade of experience in sales and business development, Timlin specializes in advanced manufacturing solutions. He previously served as Sales and Business Development Manager at BASF Forward AM, focusing on additive manufacturing and high-performance materials. He also spent over ten years at The Technology House, where he held roles including Director of Business Development and Sales Manager, working with cutting-edge product development, injection molding, machining, and additive manufacturing.  A graduate of John Carroll University, Timlin’s expertise in fostering strategic partnerships to drive growth makes him a valuable addition to Mack’s commercial team.

Lucas Osorio has rejoined Mack Molding in Vermont as a Program Manager. Osorio’s career at Mack began in the finishing department as a temp, progressing through roles in Vermont and South Carolina, including Finishing Technician, Associate Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Manager, and Document Control Manager. With extensive experience in manufacturing, quality, and program management, he brings a wealth of expertise to the role. Osorio holds multiple industry certifications, including AIAG/VDA PFMEA, APQP Core Tools, and ISO/TS 16949 Internal Auditing, along with an IATF 16949 Lead Auditor certification and a Six Sigma Green Belt.

Mark Churan has joined Mack Molding as a Quality Engineer. With over 22 years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering, Churan specializes in inspection, testing, and production process evaluation. Before joining Mack, he held roles at NSK Steering Systems America, leading quality initiatives for major automotive manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Toyota, and Rivian. His expertise spans APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and supplier quality management. Churan holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University and brings extensive knowledge of quality systems and problem-solving to Mack’s team.

Darcy Lyle has joined Mack Molding as a Sales Service Representative. Lyle brings extensive experience in sales, customer service, and marketing, having held leadership roles across the hospitality and tourism industries. Prior to Mack, she worked at Hemmings Motor News in circulation management and served as Sales Manager and Director of Sales at the Williams Inn. She has also held key roles at the Clark Art Institute and the New York Hospitality & Tourism Association. Lyle holds an Associate of Applied Science degree from Herkimer County Community College and brings a strong background in customer relations and strategic sales support to Mack’s commercial team.

INMAN, S.C. (Feb. 6, 2025) – Mack Molding is pleased to announce several key leadership promotions and new hires within its Southern Division, reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and growth.

With their proven leadership and expertise, we are well-equipped to continue driving business growth, strengthening customer relationships, and optimizing operations.”

Joe Allen has been promoted to Director of Sales and Engineering for the Southern Division, succeeding Steve Butler, who has retired after more than 35 years of service. Allen has been with the Company for over two decades and began his Mack career as a high school intern in 1996. He has since advanced through key roles, including Senior Account Manager, Account Manager, Program Manager, Materials Manager, and Purchasing Manager. Allen’s extensive experience in customer relations and strategic initiatives make him an ideal leader for the role. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Spartanburg Community College and a BA in Business Administration from Gardner-Webb University. Allen is based in Mack’s Inman, S.C., facility.

To further strengthen the Sales and Engineering team, Shannon Hildebran and Bill Pcheny have been promoted to Business Unit Directors, and Angela “AJ” McKinley has been hired as a Program Manager.

Hildebran has over 10 years of experience at Mack, excelling in roles such as Account Manager and New Business Development Manager. He has a strong background in customer relationship management, business development, and plastics sales. Hildebran has a deep familiarity with resins, having gained significant plastics and sales experience as a sales engineer with Omni Plastics in Evansville, Ind., Mid-Atlantic sales representative for Polymer Resources LTD in Stamford, Conn., and as an inside sales/customer service rep for GE Plastics. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Hildebran is based in the Statesville, N.C., plant.

Pcheny has served and built leadership experience as an Account Manager and New Business Development Manager in his 24 years with Mack, developing expertise in customer partnerships and innovative solutions. Prior to Mack, Pcheny was Sales & Engineering Manager at Unimark Plastics in Greer, S.C. He also honed his customer relations and injection molding experience as an Account Manager with InteSys Technologies Incorporated. Pcheny holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Villanova University and an MBA from Clemson University, equipping him with the technical expertise and strategic acumen to drive strategic growth. Pcheny is based in Inman.

McKinley, the Mack South Sales & Engineering Team’s new Program Manager, is responsible for account management of both existing and new customers, including planning, product realization, transition programs into production and relationship development. She previously worked at Poeppelmann Plastics in Claremont, N.C., as a Program Manager, bringing expertise in project management, operations support, PPAP, ISO 9001 audits, corrective actions, process improvements, and budget management. She holds an Associate of Arts degree from Caldwell Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State University. McKinley is based in Statesville.

On the operations side of the business, Eric Ritz has been promoted to Director of Equipment & Automation for Mack’s Southern Division. Ritz, who began his career at Mack in 2008, previously served as Plant Manager at Mack’s Inman facility. Within that role he was responsible for directing production, distribution and plant operations. Prior to Mack, Ritz built his experience in injection molding and electronics in maintenance technician roles with Innertech and Tyco Electronics. In his new role, he will leverage his engineering expertise and deep operational knowledge to drive sustainability, efficiency, and automation across the division. Ritz is based in Inman.

Ryan Stacker succeeds Ritz as Inman Plant Manager. Stacker brings over 20 years of experience in manufacturing operations and engineering, specializing in safety, employee engagement, project management, and customer satisfaction. Most recently, he was Plant Manager for Auria Solutions in Old Fort, N.C. His previous roles included Launch Manager and Business Unit Manager at Lear Corporation and Vice President of Operations at Parkway Products, LLC. Stacker has a bachelor of science in industrial management/industrial engineering from Purdue and an MBA from Mississippi State University. His expertise in large-part injection molding, agriculture, off-road vehicles, and industrial applications makes him a great fit for the Inman facility.

Rounding out recent promotions, Alex Tucker has been appointed Quality Engineer for Inman. Tucker originally joined Mack in the quality department, bringing a strong background in biology, chemistry, and quality assurance. He holds a bachelor of science from St. Augustine University, where he majored in biology with a minor in chemistry. Tucker also attended Piedmont Technical College, earning certifications as a Certified Quality Auditor, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and Health and Safety Auditor. His prior experience includes quality assurance roles at Lonza and Capsugel, along with leadership experience as Membership Director/ General Manager at the Commerce Club in Greenville, S.C.

Robert Gilbo Appointed Quality & Compliance Manager

GARDNER, Mass. (Feb. 5, 2025) – In celebration of its 25th anniversary in 2024, Mack Prototype, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mack Group, is making a major investment in its machining, inspection, and facility efficiency. With a total investment exceeding $475,000, the company is revamping its CNC technology, expanding its quality lab with a state-of-the-art CMM machine, and implementing energy-efficient heating solutions to ensure this long-standing fixture of manufacturing in the community is ready to take on its next century.

Mack Prototype is upgrading its CNC machining capabilities with the addition of a Haas VF2-SS high-speed mill, which enhances the ability to machine both plastics and metals. The unit can also perform tight-tolerance secondary operations on injection-molded parts, including PPSU, PEI, and composite materials.

“This investment allows us to improve accuracy, speed, and quality in our machining operations,” said Mack Prototype President Greg Cebular. “With a probing system integrated into the CNC, we can enhance precision and reduce variability in our production processes.”

The facility now houses 12 CNC 3-Axis milling machines, some with 4-axis capabilities, utilizing Haas, Milltronics and Fadel CNC machining equipment.

To complement its upgraded CNC capabilities, Mack Prototype is introducing a Hexagon Global S7.10.7 Scan Plus Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to its quality lab. This advanced inspection system allows the facility to measure ultra-tight tolerances and complex dimensions, critical for medical and defense applications.

“Our customers demand extreme precision, and this CMM ensures we meet those requirements,” said Cebular. “It ties directly into our CNC operations, allowing us to inspect dimensions on parts we couldn’t inspect before and significantly improve our capabilities.”

Mack Prototype is also taking a major step toward sustainability with the installation of hybrid industrial mini-split heat pumps. These systems help maximize electric efficiency while switching to backup heating only when necessary. Through partnerships with Royal Steam Heater Company, a Gardner-based contractor, and Unitil, the company is leveraging Mass Save industrial rebates, covering a significant portion of the project’s cost.

“Our goal is to reduce reliance on traditional oil and gas while ensuring a comfortable working environment,” said Cebular. “With rebates offsetting much of the investment, we’re able to implement these energy-efficient upgrades in a cost-effective way while achieving a 25% efficiency gain over traditional heating and cooling systems.”

These investments reflect Mack Prototype’s ongoing commitment to technological advancement and sustainability. Most recently, he served as Quality Manager at Accumet Engineering, overseeing ISO 9001 and AS9100 compliance. His background includes roles as a Quality Engineer at Waiteco Machine and Quality Control Technician at Keeney Holdings. Gilbo holds AS9100D Lead Auditor and AS13001/AS9117 DPRV certifications, along with extensive experience in quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

ARLINGTON, Vt. (Feb. 4, 2025) – Mack Molding, a leading custom plastics molder and supplier of contract manufacturing services, has made its largest investment in plastic injection molding presses in more than 25 years, with over $3 million dedicated to new presses, auxiliary equipment, and automation enhancements.

This major upgrade is set to bolster manufacturing capabilities, improve efficiency, and strengthen the company’s ability to meet increasing customer demand.

As part of this investment, multiple new Milacron presses have been installed across Mack’s facilities. The Cavendish, Vermont, plant has added an 1100-ton and a 500-ton press, while, the East Arlington, Vermont, plant has upgraded its equipment with a 500-ton press, along with a 950-ton and a 1500-ton press replacing older models. Mack’s Statesville, North Carolina facility has also been enhanced with a 610-ton and an 1100-ton press, further strengthening its production capabilities.

“These new hybrid presses will significantly enhance our manufacturing capabilities,” said Bryan Campbell, President of Mack South. “Compared to traditional hydraulic models, they offer improved energy efficiency, reduced cycle times, and greater precision, enabling us to better serve our customers while optimizing production processes. Mack Molding operates a robust fleet of over 120 plastic injection molding machines, ranging from 28 to 4,000 tons with barrel sizes from 0.6 oz. to 800 oz. Notably, 22 of these presses exceed 1,400 tons, positioning Mack among the largest non-automotive large-part molders in the U.S.

The advanced hybrid presses will allow for increased output while reducing energy consumption, reinforcing Mack’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
