Mack has an opening for an Accounts Payable Specialist – a problem solver with strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills – at the Company’s Headquarters in Arlington, Vt.
The accounts payable specialist is responsible for compiling and maintaining accounts payable records. As part of their essential duties and responsibilities, the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Processes accounts payable invoices while looking for possible debits to vendors using accounts receivable aging reports;
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves problem transactions by interfacing with both vendors and other Mack departments including, Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Shipping and Receiving;
- Ensures accurate and timely vendor payments. Takes discounts according to department guidelines;
- Organizes and distributes vendor 1099 statements;
- Enters new vendor information;
- Performs and supports internal/external audits;
- Formulates ideas for reducing costs;
- Complies with all company policies and procedures;
- Recommends changes to existing accounts payable procedures;
- Maintains good attendance, flexibility in assignments, adaptable to changing business needs, and continually learns and applies new skills;
- Works in a team environment and assists in other finance functions as required;
- Meets minimum physical/mental demands with or without reasonable accommodations;
- Works with co-workers in a safe, professional, and cooperative manner;
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or related work experience.
- Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, email; Ability to write routine reports and email correspondence; Ability to speak effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
- Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, MS excel, email, accounting software, and internet software.
