ARLINGTON, Vt. – Thomas Hemler, formerly with Bayer MaterialScience, has joined Mack Molding Co. as business development manager for the mid-Atlantic region, it was announced today by Business Development Director Larry Walck.
“Thom has been involved in plastics and related industries for over 20 years, and brings significant materials expertise to Mack,” says Walck. “His chemical engineering background and in-depth understanding of polymer performance adds new dimension to our business development efforts. Additionally, his work in the medical and ophthalmic markets dovetails with Mack’s continuing pursuit of medical device manufacturing opportunities.”
Hemler was key account manager for polycarbonate resin sales into the Northeast territory for Bayer MaterialScience, one of the world’s largest producers of polymers and high performance plastics. Earlier, he worked for Bayer Plastics and other divisions of Bayer, garnering production, processing, and sales and marketing expertise over a 12-year period.
Before that, Hemler worked for Amerada Hess Corporation, Rohm and Haas, and Grinnell Corporation, all in the Pennsylvania/New Jersey area, the geographic region he will work to further develop for Mack.
A graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, Hemler holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. While there, he also pursued graduate coursework in finance and economics. Additionally, Hemler has completed several professional training programs in sales, leadership, and problem solving.
An outdoorsman, Hemler enjoys running, camping and saltwater fishing. He resides in New Jersey with his wife and three children.
