We are proud to say Mack and some of its former interns turned full-time employees were featured in the Wall Street Journal article, “Small Business Thinks Big About Recruiting: Employers in a tight job market are offering vacation money to new recruits, bolstering internships, scouting new locations.”
Mack prides itself on giving its interns tangible work examples for their resumes while helping them build their professional network and employment skills – not to mention allowing students to have a measurable impact on a $350 million company. Interns are assigned a key project that has been vetted by senior management, and at the end of the program are invited to present their work to senior staff. Throughout the program interns are also have access to Mack’s significant recreational and fitness spaces, educational lunch and learns and exposure to the many facets of Mack’s business, including the company’s facilities. While the majority of Mack’s interns are engineering students fulfilling roles on our manufacturing, engineering and customer program teams, several of the Company’s departments host students, including Human Resources, Finance, Purchasing, Sales and Communications – meaning there is tremendous opportunity for majors of any kind.
It has been an extremely rewarding return on the Company’s workforce development efforts, while bringing new energy and ideas to the business. In the last two years 15 former interns have returned to Mack in full-time positions!
