ARLINGTON, Vt. (Feb. 8, 2024) – Mack Molding has announced several new hires and promotions for the Northern Division, reflecting the Company’s commitment to fostering talent on its New Business Development, Manufacturing, Engineering and Procurement teams.

Duncan Smith has joined the New Business Development team as New Business Development Manager covering the Northeast. Smith is responsible for growing new accounts, and identifying future growth markets and technologies. Once a project is awarded he will work with program managers to transfer information and support the first stage gate review. Smith is a seasoned sales professional with more than 10 years of experience in developing customer relationships and driving growth, most recently serving as Head of Sales at Seaport Consulting in Boston, Mass. He holds a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in philosophy and economics from Wheaton College in Norton, Mass.
Mack Prototype, in Gardner, Mass., has hired Darren Gale as Director of Molding Operations. Within this role, Gale leads engineering and operations activities in injection molding, DFM support and new tooling development in the low-volume, specialty production of complex parts for medical, industrial, defense and consumer markets. He brings more than 20 years of design and manufacturing experience in injection molding and additive manufacturing to the role, with expertise in engineering, product design, process development and project management. Gale is a 6 Sigma Black Belt and Certified Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute.
Ann Wedell has been promoted to Materials Manager at Mack Headquarters in Arlington, Vt. Wedell will now lead the shipping and receiving departments, including managing the development of production schedules for all manufacturing processes within the facility, as well as managing and controlling inventories for the facility. She previously was Engineering Team Leader for Mack Molding’s Headquarters. Wedell has been with Mack since March 2016 and has also served in quality and manufacturing engineer roles. She graduated from the University of Dayton with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering.
Former Mack Intern Benjamin Schwartz has been hired as a Design Engineer with the Application Development Center at Headquarters. Schwartz is responsible for planning and directing engineering design and development projects to support a number of customer programs through all phases of innovation and development, including developing new tools and designs, as well as overseeing the modification of existing tools, jigs, fixtures and machines that must meet specialized design and performance specifications. Schwartz previously was a Tool Design Engineering Intern with Mack and has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Denver.
The Company’s Cavendish plant has welcomed Tshering Tamang as a Quality Engineer. Within this role Tamang will support program launches, as well as provide creative and sustaining engineering solutions to drive operational efficiency and the high quality standards demanded by Mack’s customers. Tamang brings a background in quality assurance and data analysis to the team. Prior to Mack, he was an analytical lab technician with Revision Military in Essex Junction, Vt. Tamang has bachelor of science degrees in mathematics and physics from the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt., and Norwich University in Northfield, Vt., respectively.
Bethany Hassett also has joined the New Business Development team as a Business Development Coordinator. Hassett will be responsible for coordinating the scheduling needs of the team, as well as potential customers. She also will support quoting activities by engaging with cross functional teams to organize the bill of materials, as well as support in the transition of new customers to the account management team. This is a promotion for Hassett, who joined Mack in October 2021 as an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Finance Department. Prior to Mack, Hassett developed front-line client support experience as customer relations manager for the Bennington Pizza House in Bennington, Vt.
Caitlin Hawley has taken on the role of Procurement Specialist in the Purchasing Department at Mack Headquarters, coordinating the procurement and distribution of materials and supplies for the Company. Hawley had been serving the Company as a Sales Service Representative on the Sales & Engineering team since 2016, with responsibility for customer service and account management, including maintaining orders and other critical customer information. Prior to Mack, she was a bank teller with Berkshire Bank in Arlington, Vt. She holds an associate degree in business from the Community College of Vermont in Bennington, Vt.
